Is Batman Begins Available on Netflix?
If you’re looking for a great Batman movie, you can’t go wrong with Batman Begins. It successfully rebooted the film series, has amazing acting, great writing, and will definitely leave you wanting more (which is great news cause there are two awesome sequels to it).
But is the movie available on Netflix?
It is, but there’s a catch it’s not available worldwide. We used StreamCatcher from ProPrivacy to confirm this, and the movie is only available in 21 countries. Quite the difference considering Netflix is available in over 190 countries!

Not really fair, is it? You’re likely paying the same monthly price as everyone else, so why don’t you have access to the same content?
We’ll answer that question and show you how to unblock Batman Begins (and any other content you want) on Netflix in this quick guide.
So Why Isn’t Batman Begins Available Worldwide?
Simply put, because it isn’t owned by Netflix. So they had to license the movie (and its sequels) to show it on their site. That’s what Netflix does with most of its content, actually.
However, the site wasn’t able to get global rights for Batman Begins. We can’t say why for sure, but we can take some wild guesses:
- Maybe the copyright holder already sold the licensing rights for other regions to other streaming sites and TV networks. For example, Batman Begins might not be available on Netflix UK because it’s also available on Sky Go, and they bought the distribution rights for that country.
- Netflix’s data mining show that audiences in some countries won’t be interested in that movie. Since licensing content is an enormous expense for Netflix, the site won’t buy rights for your region if it isn’t profitable for them.
Because of that, Netflix has to use geo-blocks to make sure only people in the countries where they have streaming rights for Batman Begins watch it on their platform. If they wouldn’t take these measures, they could get in legal trouble.
How to Unblock Batman Begins on Netflix (Quick & Easy Solution)
The good news is there is a very simple way to unblock Batman Begins on Netflix just use a VPN. It’s an online tool that spoofs your geo-location by hiding your IP address. Here’s how it does that:
- First, you use a VPN app to connect to a VPN server.
- The two establish a secure connection.
- When you visit Netflix, the VPN server intercepts and routes your connection requests (which contain your IP).
- Netflix only sees the VPN’s IP address, while your device’s IP remains hidden.
- So, Netflix only knows the VPN server’s geo-location.
Therefore, as long as you use a VPN server in a country where Batman Begins is available, you’ll be able to watch it.
To find a good Netflix VPN, we recommend using StreamCatcher. It’s an online tool from ProPrivacy that tells you where Netflix titles are available. Besides that, it recommends the best three Netflix VPNs on the market. Those suggestions are backed by ProPrivacy’s data (one of the biggest VPN review sites on the web), so you know they are legit.
Can You Unblock Batman Begins with a Free VPN?
Usually, no. Here’s the thing Netflix is surprisingly good at detecting VPN IP addresses. If that happens, the site will redirect you to the Netflix proxy error page, which looks like this:
Why does that happen, though?
To keep it simple – because the VPN doesn’t refresh their IPs often enough. That basically means they have to lease new IP addresses from the data centers they rent servers from. Doing that is pretty expensive, and since the VPN is free, well – you see the problem, don’t you?
Even if you can unblock Batman Begins with a free VPN, it won’t last. The VPN might get its IP blacklisted while you’re watching the movie, and you’ll see the proxy error page right when the story gets really good. Or you’ll be able to watch the movie, but the sequels won’t work because the VPN’s IP gets flagged and blocked.
Either way, you get the idea you can’t fully enjoy Netflix with a free VPN. It’s much better to get a paid one instead. Many of them aren’t even expensive. With long-term plans, you might even get a subscription for as little as $2 or $3 per month.
Can You Unblock Batman Beings with Tor?
Our tests show that no, you can’t. We could never do that. It’s not a huge surprise, though. While Tor can hide your IP address (so your geo-location), it can’t unblock Netflix just like Tor documentation already shows.
But let’s say you do manage to unblock Batman Begins with Tor. If you do that, you won’t get a very smooth experience. Tor isn’t built for streaming, and it shows the speeds are really bad. We usually averaged 2-3 Mbps, which is well below the minimum of 25 Mbps needed to enjoy Ultra HD streaming on Netflix.
What’s the deal with the slowdowns?
Well, Tor encrypts and decrypts your traffic at least three times. That puts a lot of stress on your connection. Also, there are only around 6,000 servers for roughly two million users. So there’s not enough bandwidth to go around.
Overall, Tor is more suitable for securing your privacy. Don’t use it for online streaming.
If yes, what did you think of it? Also, did you have to use a VPN to unblock it, or did you rely on other unblocking methods?
