Dahi is one of the comfort foods serves in every Indian household. Be it North India or South India, it is a go-to-go food. No doubt, but Dahi Tadka is a lip-smacking dish that goes with Indian bread (roti) or rice. Now it is easier to cook a restaurant style Dahi tadka at home with a few ingredients.

Ingredients for Dahi Tadka

  • Black salt as per need
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 3 cups of curd or yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 2 stalks of curry leaves
  • ½ teaspoon of coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon of asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder

Method to cook Dahi Tadka

Prepare curd: Put the curd in a bowl, add black salt & cumin powder as per taste and whisk them well.

Prepare tempering: Put a pan on the medium flame and heat it. Add oil in it and grease the pan thoroughly. It’s time to add curry leaves, asafoetida, mustard seeds, and sauté all the spices. Chopped garlic gloves, add them to the same pan and sauté them for 3-4 minutes. Next, add coriander powder and red chilli powder to the same pan. Now mix all the ingredients and sauté them for 2 minutes.

Ready for serving: Now, your Dahi Tadka is almost ready to serve. Add the tempering on the whisk Dahi and gently mix them.
