A piece was shocking and sad news in coming in stating that Veteran actor who was last seen in Ghayal Once again-Om Puri has died. He was just 66 year old when the actor suffered from the massive heart attack resulting into haert failure.
His close one filmmaker Ashoke Pandit said,â€Omji suffered from a massive heart attack in the morning today. We have just reached his residence.â€
Actor Shabana Azmi shared more details via tweet. She posted, “OM Puri undergoing postmortem at Cooper Hospital.Will be taken to Trishul around 3pm Funeral at Oshiwara electric crematorium around 6pm.â€
Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher who have done several films with Om Puri and also called best friends of him rushed as soon as they got the news of that Veteran actor Om Puri suffered from the massive heart attack.
Mr Puri won the National Film Award in 1983 for Ardh Satya in which he played a police inspector who fought systemic corruption and the nexus between politicians and the police.
Before dying, Omji was in a head line for making a statement against India army soldier during the surgical strike on NDTV debate. He asked nation to send human bombs to pakistan and also said that ‘we dint asked soldier to join army, it was their choice.’
Later he apologized for the same.
